3.5 Million Californians Will Be On The Road This Weekend Which Is Almost A 12% Percent Increase Over Last Year.   Triple A Of Northern California Said That Despite The Economy, All Indications Are That People Are Ready To Get Out On This Weekend For The Three Day Holiday Which Is The Traditional End Of Summer.   Police Agencies Will Be Out In Force And Will Be On The Lookout For The Obvious Speeders, DUI, And Will Attempt Through Sheer Presence To Help Keep It As A Safe Weekend For Everyone.   The Highway Patrol Is Encouraging Drivers To Report The Sighting Of Any DUI Using The 911 System.   Callers Should Provide Location And Direction Of Any DUI They Spot.   Locally Placer County Law Enforcement Will Continue Their Avoid The Seven Campaign Which Includes Police Agencies From The County, And All Of The City’s In Addition To The CHP.   AAA Will Have Their Triple A Tipsy Tow Program Which Includes A One Way Ride For The Driver And The Drivers Vehicle To Their Home.   The Service Is Free And Available At One 800-222-4357.

North State Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-Linda) Announced That His Investigation Into Improper Actions By The Department Of Consumer Affairs Has Resulted In A Moratorium On Illegal Property Seizures By The State Department. Logue Was Responding To Reports That Agents From The Bureau Of Home Furnishings And Thermal Insulation Were Entering Businesses Without Just Cause And Removing Furniture For “Testing” Without Compensation To The Business Owners. John Maloof, The Constituent Who First Contacted Assemblyman Logue Regarding This Issue, Received A Personal Call And Apology From Rick Fong Of The Department Of Consumer Affairs (Chief Of The Home Furnishings Bureau).   Maloof Said “He Offered The Apologies Of The   Department. He Also Told Maloof The Bureau Has Suspended Any Further Investigations Of Retailers Involving The Conduct He Was Subjected To, And That He Anticipated Legislative Changes Would Be Made To Current Regulations Under Which The Bureau Operates.

Placer County Sheriff’s Detectives Are Asking The Public’s Help In Identifying A Woman Who May Be Involved In A Large-Scale Burglary From A Roseville Home In July. The Woman Was Photographed In A Best Buy Store In Natomas On July 5, The Day After Burglars Entered The Home In The Unincorporated Area Of Roseville. She Was Seen Buying Items With A Check Stolen From The Home. She Used A California Driver’s License For Identification, However, It Was Later Discovered That The License Did Not Belong To The Suspect. The Woman Is Heavy-Set And Has Brown Hair. She Has A Large Tattoo Of An Eagle On Her Left Upper Arm And Small Bird Footprints Tattooed On Top Of Her Right Shoulder. She Was Wearing A Green Tank Top. The Home Was Burglarized Sometime Between The Evening Of July 3 And Early July 4. Thieves Made Off With Shoes, Clothing, Jewelry, Make-Up, Sunglasses, Purses, An Xbox 360 With Games, Televisions, A Gun, The Checks And A 2002 Black Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Detectives Believe There Are Multiple Suspects In The Burglary. Anyone With Information On This Crime Is Urged To Contact Placer County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Doolittle At (530) 889-7844. The Folsom Police Have Arrested A Man Who They Believe It Is Known As The Jelly Belly Bandit. 45 Year Old Todd Joseph Willis Of Fair Oaks, Was Arrested By Citrus Heights Police In The August For A Similar Crime And Notified The Folsom Police Who Tried To Interview Him At His Home In Fair Oaks And He Became Combatitive And Then Tried To Run. He Was Subdued And Sent To A Local Hospital Then Cleared For Arrest And Booking. Willis Faces One Count Of Robbery And Three Counts Of Resisting Arrest And Being Held On 105 Thousand Dollars Bail In The Sacramento Jail. Willis Allegedly Robbed The Jelly Belly Store In Folsom In July, And Was Given That Name By The Police Atthorities.

Area Police Atthorities Are Looking For Two Gunmen Who Shot Two Employees At A Rexall Pharmacy In North Highlands Yesterday Afternoon.   The Victims Were Employees At The Drugstore When The Two Bandits Appeared In The Store, One Armed, And Demanded Drugs.   One Employee Pulled Out A Semiautomatic Handgun Which Sparked A Gunfire Battle Between The Employee And The Bandits.   One Employee Was Shot Dead.   A Nearby Shop Owner Said That This Particular Pharmacy Has Been Robbed Before.
